Conflict of interest Policy

Journal of Smart Agriculture and Environmental Technology (JOSAET)

The Journal of Smart Agriculture and Environmental Technology (JOSAET) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and objectivity throughout the publication process. All participants involved in the publication process—including authors, reviewers, editors, and Editorial Board members—are required to disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest that could influence the conduct, evaluation, or publication of scholarly work.


1. Conflict of Interest for Authors
Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial interests that may influence the interpretation or presentation of their research. These may include, but are not limited to:

  • Research funding or sponsorship;
  • Employment or consultancy;
  • Honoraria or speaker fees;
  • Stock ownership or financial investments;
  • Patents or patent applications;
  • Personal, academic, or professional relationships that may influence the research.

All sources of financial support must be clearly acknowledged in the manuscript.

If no conflicts of interest exist, authors should include the following statement:

The authors declare that they have no known competing interests or conflicts of interest related to this work. 

2. Conflict of Interest for Reviewers

Reviewers must decline an invitation to review a manuscript if they have any conflict of interest that could affect their impartiality, including:

  • Personal or professional relationships with the authors;
  • Collaboration with the authors within the recent past;
  • Employment at the same institution;
  • Financial or commercial interests related to the manuscript.

Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of all manuscripts and must not use unpublished information for personal or professional advantage.

3. Conflict of Interest for Editors
Editors and Editorial Board members must perform their duties impartially and independently.

Editors must not handle manuscripts if they:

  • are authors or co-authors of the submitted work;
  • have personal, professional, or financial relationships with the authors;
  • have any competing interest that may influence the editorial decision.

In such cases, the manuscript will be assigned to another editor with no conflict of interest.

Editorial decisions are based solely on the scientific quality, originality, significance, and relevance of the manuscript.


4. Disclosure and Management
Any disclosed conflict of interest will be evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief or the Editorial Board. When necessary, appropriate measures will be taken to ensure an independent, objective, and transparent editorial process.

Failure to disclose a relevant conflict of interest may result in editorial action, including rejection of the manuscript, publication of a correction, or retraction of the article, depending on the nature and severity of the undisclosed conflict.


5. Policy Review

JOSAET periodically reviews this policy to ensure alignment with international standards of publication ethics and best editorial practices.
